Found Art
South-West, Found Art, is placed between Realism and Pop Art, with much of the work centered around street, commercial, and everyday objects that are repurposed. This style often crosses over into Pop Art, but its starting point is the found object itself. There is an irony in taking outdoor, public items and bringing them inside, making them personal, and giving them a new purpose for an individual rather than the masses, whether for visual pleasure or function. Found Art can also take ordinary discarded materials, such as bottle caps, and turn them into something entirely different. Unlike Realism, which represents an object, Found Art uses the object itself; unlike Pop Art, its meaning begins with the object's original purpose and context.
