This is apart of the LOOK, piece #10/18, and it apart of the Move Cluster, along with Dip, and Dive.

It is simply a section of ground, reconstructed by hand, constucted to insagate the viewer, "where have you been stepping"? would you even look down, if the gorund felt stable?

Ground Study transforms the ordinary surface beneath our feet into a tactile mixed-media artwork. Built from layers of acrylic and found materials, the work recreates the irregular texture and weight of earth, incorporating footprints, a fallen stick, and small objects embedded within the surface.

Rather than depicting the ground from a distance, the work asks the viewer to look closely at what is usually overlooked. The footprints suggest a brief human presence, while the scattered found objects become traces of everyday life caught within the landscape. Natural and manufactured materials exist together, partially buried and partially revealed.

The result is both painting and constructed surface—a familiar piece of ground made strange through close observation. If the LOOK collection had a rock bottom, this would be it.
